While skiing has been a part of Revelstoke’s culture for over a century, the modern Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) as we know it today was launched in 2007. This ambitious C$1 billion project aimed to transform a small local ski hill into a premier international destination. The opening year saw the installation of the Revelation Gondola and The Stoke Chair, which together unlocked the resort’s now-famous vertical – the longest in North America. This expansion instantly put Revelstoke on the map for adventurous skiers and snowboarders seeking vast, challenging terrain and unparalleled powder.

The resort’s stats speak for themselves. With a base elevation of 1,680 feet and a summit at 7,300 feet, the 5,620-foot vertical drop is its crowning feature. RMR spans over 3,121 acres of skiable terrain, encompassing everything from perfectly groomed cruisers to expert-only chutes. With over 75 named runs, four high-alpine bowls, and extensive gladed areas, the variety is immense. The area is blessed with an average of 34-45 feet of snowfall annually, making deep powder days the norm, not the exception.

Revelstoke Resort Guide & FAQ

For the deepest powder, January and February are typically the prime months. The snow base is well-established, and storms frequently roll through, delivering fresh powder. For sunnier skies and spring conditions, consider March and early April.
