This second leg of the trip on US-40 is where the scenery really opens up. The highway climbs over the Continental Divide at Berthoud Pass and later crosses Rabbit Ears Pass, known for its distinctive rock formation and stunning winter landscapes. This part of the drive requires experienced navigation, especially during snowfall.
